Londonderry man arrested for sexually assaulting girl, 10
LONDONDERRY — A Londonderry man faces felony rape charges after police charged him with assaulting a 10-year-old girl on several occasions last summer.
Christopher Plummer, 49, of Cross Road, was arrested on a warrant at his home shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday.
According to Londonderry Police Detective Christopher Olson, the investigation into the incident began in late August when a family member reported Plummer to local authorities.
Investigations concluded this past Monday, with a warrant ultimately being issued for Plummer's arrest.
Olson said Plummer is accused of entering the little girl's room on several occasions when she was sleeping inside a Londonderry residence and sexually assaulting her.
Plummer may be facing additional charges for similar offenses reported in other nearby communities, Olson noted, but he did not elaborate.
Though Plummer is wearing a "Londonderry School District" T-shirt in his mug shot, police said the suspect is not a local school employee. He works for a local oil company "It's just a very horrible coincidence," Olson said.
Plummer faces three charges of aggravated felonious sexual assault/statutory rape and is being held at Rockingham County Jail on $25,000 cash bail. He will appear in 10th Circuit Court, Derry District Division, Tuesday.
