NHIAA Hockey: Fournier, Corthell lead Bow skaters
GOFFSTOWN — Chris Fournier scored a hat trick and goalie Kinsman Corthell stopped 27 shots as Bow earned a 6-0 shut out over Goffstown at Sullivan Arena at St. Anselm College Wednesday.
The loss snaps a seven-game win streak for the Grizzlies, who fall to 8-3. Bow improves to 10-3.
“It was a nice bounce back after the Bedford game,” said Bow coach Frank Alosa. The Falcons lost to the Bulldogs 4-1 two days ago.
“We kept moving our feet and made some plays,” said Alosa. “And we rallied behind our goalie, Kinsman Corthell. He was our back-up. Now he’s the starter.”
Fournier got the Falcons on the board at 7:28 of the first period on a pass from Josh Lacasse. Austin Beaudette and Fournier got two more goals to make it 3-0 after one period.
Fournier got his third goal midway through the second period. The Falcons added two more in the third.
“They outplayed us. They won the 50-50 battles and we were just flat,” said Goffstown coach Paul Roy.
“We hadn’t played in 10-12 days because of weather, but there’s no excuses,” said Roy. “We just have to get back to practice and get ready for Windham-Pelham.”
