Storm pushes high school hoops to Saturday

The Thursday/Friday winter storm caused a host of postponements in Friday's high school schedule, most notably the marquee Division I boys' basketball game featuring Merrimack at Trinity of Manchester.

The Tomahawks, 12-1, will now visit the Pioneers, 11-1, Saturday at 1 p.m. at McHugh Gymnasium.

Other Division I boys' games shifted to Saturday include: Spaulding of Rochester at Manchester Central, 4 p.m.; Manchester West at Pinkerton of Derry, 2:30 p.m.; and Keene at Dover, 2:30 p.m.

Other boys' games pushed to Saturday include Bishop Brady of Concord at Pembroke, 6 p.m. Also, the Pelham at ConVal of Peterborough was moved to Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., and the Campbell at Sanborn contest is now Saturday, Feb. 22, at 4:30 p.m.

Girls' basketball postponements include ConVal at Pelham, to Feb. 24 at 6:30 p.m., and Dover at Keene, to Saturday at 4:30 p.m.; Trinity at Merrimack, to Feb. 27, 5 p.m.

Ski jumping for all divisions scheduled for Friday at Storrs Pond Area in Hanover was postponed until Saturday at 11 a.m. at the same site.

The preliminary diving portion of the NHIAA Swimming and Diving Championships at UNH's Swasey Pool was postponed from Friday to Saturday. It will take place during the break after the 50 freestyle in each respective division.

Division I state swimming competition begins Saturday at 8:30 a.m., followed by the Division II meet at 5:30 p.m.
