Monarchs post victory in Hartford

The Manchester Monarchs defeated the Hartford Wolf Pack, 4-2, Saturday night.
Manchester (33-14-7) will host St. John's at 3 p.m. Sunday at Verizon Wireless Arena.
Linden Vey broke a 1-1 tie with a power-play goal 3:48 into the second period. Vey blasted a shot past David Leneveu from the right circle. Manchester added to its lead when Tyler Toffoli scored on a power play goal at 7:09 of the third period and Toffoli later scored an empty-net goal.
Hartford took a 1-0 lead 7:34 into the game on a Darroll Powe goal. Powe tipped a Tommy Hughes shot fired from just inside the blue line, deflecting a trickler through Martin Jones and into the net.
The Monarchs tied the game at 1-1 on a Brian O'Neill goal at 15:43 of the first.
