Franconia's Bode Miller tied for a bronze medal in the Winter Olympics in Russia Sunday.

At 36, Miller becomes the oldest Alpine skier to win an Olympic medal. It was his sixth Olympic medal, second all-time among Olympic skiers.

Miller tied for third with Canada's Jan Hudec in the super-G alpine skiing event.the gold medal was won by Kjetil Jansrud of Norway in a time of 1 minute, 18.14 seconds. An American, Andrew Weibrecht, was second in 1:18:44 and Hudec and Miller tied for third with a time of 1:18:67.

Miller was emotional as he spoke to reporters following the race, Miller told reporters that the death of his 29-year-old brother, Chelone, after a seizure last year was with him during the day.

""Losing my brother this last year was really hard for myself, my family, our whole community," Miller said. "It was just a lot of emotion ... to have things go well today, as well as they did...everything felt pretty raw and pretty connected. It was a lot for me."

Chelone, a promising snowboarder considered a likely Olympic competitor, died of an apparent seizure last April.
