Somersworth High teacher arrested after student says he hugged, kissed her

SOMERSWORTH - A Somersworth High School teacher has been arrested and charged with three counts of simple assault after a female student told police he hugged her and then kissed her on the neck and hand.


The incident happened Jan. 27, according to police, who arrested Paul C. Blanc, 40, of 123 McKegney Road, Milton, after he turned himself in at the Somersworth Police Department.


Blanc was charged with three counts of simple assault against the student. The charges allege he hugged the student, kissed her on the neck, and then kissed her on the hand. The charges are all Class A misdemeanors, each of which could result in up to a year in jail and or fines.


Blanc was released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in 7th Circuit Court, Dover District Division, March 6.
