Winchester couple injured in car crash on Route 10 Sunday

WINCHESTER — A husband and wife were taken to the hospital Sunday after their van was rear-ended on Route 10/Keene Road, police said.

Police responded to Route 10/Keene Road a short distance from the Swanzey town line at 9:46 a.m., said Winchester Police Chief Gary A. Phillips.

A 2006 Kia Sedona, driven by Rhondalyn Leclaire, 56, of Winchester, was stopped on Route 10. Leclaire was waiting for traffic to pass so that she could turn the Kia left into a driveway on Route 10, Philips said, when a 2002 Hyundai Accent, driven by James E. Black, 73, of Winchester struck the Kia from behind.

Leclaire was taken to Cheshire Medical Center in Keene with a neck injury and her husband, Rodney Leclaire, a passenger in the car, was taken to Cheshire Medical center with multiple injuries.

Black was uninjured.

The Kia had minor rear-end damage and the Hyundai had moderate front-end damage.

Phillips said it appears that driver inattention caused the crash.

Christie is the real deal

We have found Gov. Chris Christie to be the most consistent, the most confident in his abilities, the most tested under fire, and the most likely to regain the White House from a disastrous Democratic regime.
