Manchester Toastmasters plans first Speech-athon
MANCHESTER — Top of the Town Toastmasters of Manchester will host its first Speech-athon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at Manchester Community College, 1066 Front St., Room 238.
This free event is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Italian club's mask-making talk requires reservations
GILFORD — The New Hampshire Lakes Region Italian Cultural Club will bring an interesting aspect of Italian culture to the area on Friday, March 28.

SANDOWN — The Sandown Garden Club will host a presentation next month on "Planting Annuals for Impact" by Linda Zukas, the annuals manager and container designer at Churchill's in Exeter.
Her program will focus on selecting the right annuals for each location, preparing the soil and maintaining the plants to get season-long color. Zukas notes that there are so many beautiful colors and more choices than ever, and she will help gardeners pick the most effective ones to plant for impact.
