College Roundup: Dartmouth hockey team tips Brown in overtime

Tyler Sikura scored 51 seconds into overtime to lift Dartmouth College to a 2-1 overtime win over Brown in an ECAC hockey game before 2,783 fans at Thompson Arena in Hanover.

Brad Schierhorn scored the other Dartmouth goal, in the second period. Brown’s Matt Lorito scored a power-play goal at 8:17 of the third period to send the game into overtime.

Dartmouth goalie Charles Grant made 25 saves.

The Big Green (7-16-3 overall, 6-12-1 in the ECAC) play defending national champ Yale tonight at 7 p.m. in the final regular-season home game. The Bulldogs dropped to 10-13-3, 7-11-1.

Women's hockey

Dartmouth 3, Brown 0: At Meehan Auditorium in Providence, R.I., Lindsey Allen had a goal and two assists and Lindsay Holdcroft recorded her first shutout of the season as Dartmouth blanked Brown.

Men’s basketball

Princeton 67, Dartmouth 57: The host Tigers made 20 of 23 foul shots to top the Big Green in an Ivy League contest on Friday night. Spencer Weisz recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead Princeton (15-7, 3-5 Ivy) to its third win in the last four games.

Sophomore Connor Boehm’s 11 points led the Big Green (9-14, 2-7 Ivy), while freshman Wesley Dickinson added a career-high 10 points.

Dartmouth plays tonight at Penn.

Women’s basketball

Princeton 87, Dartmouth 46: The visiting Tigers improved to 16-6 overall, 7-1 in the Ivy League with the easy win at Leede Arena in Hanover. Dartmouth fell to 3-20, 0-9. Princeton, coached by former Souhegan of Amherst and Dartmouth College star Courtney Banghart, was led by Annie Tarakchian’s 14 points. Lakin Roland led Dartmouth with 12 points.
