College Hockey: St. Anselm, SNHU skaters to meet in NE-10 semifinal


No. 2 seed St. Anselm College takes on No. 3 Southern New Hampshire Saturday night at 7 in a Northeast-10 Conference semifinal game at the Hawks’ Sullivan Arena in Goffstown.

The winner advances to the league title game on March 1 against St. Michael’s or Stonehill. No. 4 St. Michael’s plays at No. 1 Stonehill in their semifinal at 7:30 on Saturday night.

St. Anselm is 10-11-4 overall and the Penmen are 15-8-1.

The Hawks won the regular-season meeting between the teams, 2-0, on Feb. 4 at Sullivan Arena.

Kevin Vanous scored what proved to be the winning goal with 22 seconds left in the second period. Mark Meads added an empty-net goal with 1:05 left in the game.
