NHIAA Bowling: Pinkerton wins state crown

Top-seeded Pinkerton Academy of Derry defeated third-seeded Spaulding of Rochester 4-3 to win the 2013-14 NHIAA Bowling team championship Saturday at Spare Time Bowling Alley in Manchester.

The scores in the final match were 125-180, 177-188, 135-128, 136-109, 167-143, 151-173 and 154-150.

Alexandria Albano, Austin Caux, Jordan Caux, Natalie Fabrizio, Michael Komisarek, Whitney Leyland, David Pierson and Raina Stobbs are the Pinkerton players who competed Saturday.

Pinkerton defeated fourth-seeded Keene to reach the championship match. Spaulding upset second-seeded Stevens of Claremont in the other semifinal.

Fifth-seeded Raymond, sixth-seeded Hollis/Brookline, seventh-seeded Goffstown, eighth-seeded Souhegan of Amherst, ninth-seeded Bishop Guertin of Nashua, 10th-seeded Merrimack, 11th-seeded Laconia and 12th-seeded Sanborn Regional of Kingston were the other teams in this year's field.
