College Roundup: Big Senior Day for Bayliss

Manchester's Will Bayliss could not have written his Senior Day script any better.

Bayliss, the lone senior on the Wheaton College men's basketball team, closed out Saturday's 79-73 victory over Emerson College by knocking down two free throws with four seconds remaining, and also moved to third on the program's career assists list Saturday afternoon at Emerson Gymnasium in Norton, Mass.

Bayliss finished the game with eight points, a game-high eight assists and one steal. He played in 83 games (81 starts) during his college career and averaged 7.1 points per game (590 total). He finished his career with 293 assists, 205 rebounds, 70 steals and a .400 field goal percentage.




SNHU 63, St. Michael's 54: At Colchester, Vt., guard CJ Marro scored a team-high 12 points to help SNHU overcome a 28-21 halftime deficit. Hooksett's Mike Stys, Alexsander Dobrvic and Rodney Sanders each scored 11 for the Penmen.




St. Anselm 94, Assumption 63: At Manchester, guard Roy Mabrey tossed in a game-high 24 points and St. Anselm outscored Assumption 53-28 in the first half.




Franklin Pierce 77, Merrimack 69: At Rindge, Ellis Cooper came off the bench to score 24 points to highlight the Ravens' victory. Ryen Vilmont added 19 for Franklin Pierce.

Women's basketball

St. Michael's 64, SNHU 63: At Colchester, Vt., Jaffrey's Brooke Springfield scored a game-high 17 points and finished with a team-high six rebounds, but the Penmen were outscored 8-7 in overtime.




Assumption 50, St. Anselm 34: At Manchester, forward Tori Lehr scored a team-high 11 points, but the Hawks were held to 15 points in the first half.




Franklin Pierce 69, Merrimack 54: At Rindge, guard Brittany Martelle led all scorers with 24 points to help Franklin Pierce improve to 10-2 at home.

Women's hockey

Dartmouth 2, Yale 1: At New Haven, Conn., freshman Devon Moir scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal seven minutes into the second period as Dartmouth clinched its fifth straight ECAC Hockey Tournament appearance.
