Bruins tickets on the rise next year

Getting hit against the boards by defenseman Zdeno Chara may now seem tame compared to the hard blow Boston Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs delivered to his loyal season ticket holders this week.

For the 2014-15 season the Bruins announced that face value tickets for a loge seat will cost anywhere between $88 and $145 next season depending on the location of the seat.

Balcony seats will be between $45 and $98.

This season face value tickets for a loge seat went anywhere between $70 and $132 per game.

Balcony seats this season were sold anywhere between $32 and $91 per game.

On his website, www.stanleycupofchowder.com, blogger Cornelius Hardenbergh says his season tickets in balcony section 307 went from $24 per seat in 2008-09 to $40 this season to $50 for next season.

In a chart on the page listing the prices from the 2008-09 season to next season, Hardenbergh indicates his own ticket increase will be 25-percent from this season to next and 108.3 percent increase over a span of seven seasons.
