New Boston child care worker facing DWI, other charges, after arrest with child in car

MERRIMACK — A New Boston woman who allegedly was drunk while working at a child care center, then drove a car with her 5-year-old daughter in it, was arrested Friday on four counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of driving while intoxicated.

Police said Casey H. Lever, 29, was reported by a local business as being intoxicated and driving away while with a child. She was pulled over on Twin Bridge Road, "showed signs of impairment" and was arrested for DWI, police said in a release. Her daughter was released to the child's father, police said.

A subsequent investigation showed that Lever had been asked to leave while working at a child care center, where she was responsible for three infants, because she appeared intoxicated. The child care center, which police did not name, has contacted parents of the children, police said.

Lever is scheduled to appear Monday in Merrimack Circuit Court.
