February 28. 2014 8:01PM

MANCHESTER — A Georgia man received a 5- to 25-year state prison sentence Thursday for forcibly raping a 9-year-old girl twice between December 2012 and last March.

Hillsborough County Superior Court Judge Philip Mangones also imposed an additional 10- to -20 year suspended sentence on Terrell Wells, 29.

The girl told Manchester police last March that Wells sexually assaulted her while she watched a movie at her home in December and again in March, Hillsborough County Attorney Patricia M. LaFrance said.

Wells pleaded guilty to both counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault Thursday. The plea agreement had the support of the victim and her family. The victim also wrote a statement, which was read to the court.

Wells will be eligible for parole in five years, but only will be granted parole if he successfully completes the Sexual Offender Program at the state prison.
