New boss at SAU 41 schools in Hollis
Corey's three-year-contract in Hollis and Brookline begins July 1. He's been serving as Londonderry's assistant superintendent for the past four years.
Moody said Corey's starting annual salary is set at $130,000.
"The SAU Governing Board was impressed with Mr. Corey's credentials," Moody said, noting that Corey has worked extensively on curriculum and assessment and played a key role in perfecting the Londonderry School District's strategic plan.
Before coming to Londonderry, he was Dover's Dean of Instruction after working as first a teacher at Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, Mass., then a principal in Hudson, Mass.
The governing board for SAU 41 has been searching for a permanent superintendent for the past couple years. In January 2013, when former district superintendent Susan Hodgdon's contract came up for review, the governing board opted against renewal.
This past December, officials announced they'd received 188 applications for the position and a search committee embarked in a lengthy interview and screening process.
