Minor injuries in head-on truck, car crash on Route 101 in Bedford

BEDFORD - Route 101, between Jenkins and Wallace Roads, shut down for about 2 1/2 hours Sunday night after a head-on collision involving a tractor trailer and a Honda Accord.

The driver of the Honda suffered minor injuries in the 9:38 p.m. crash and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The truck driver appeared to be uninjured, police said.

The heavily traveled road was closed for about 2 1/2 hours while police investigated the crash and the wreckage was cleared.

The collision remains under investigation. Police said neither speed nor alcohol appear to be a factor.
