Bishop Libasci declares Holy Family Academy a Catholic school
MANCHESTER — Following a request from the trustees of Holy Family Academy, the Most Rev. Peter A. Libasci, Bishop of Manchester, has designated Holy Family Academy a Catholic school.
Recognition as a Catholic school signifies that Holy Family Academy conforms to the authority of the bishop in matters of faith and morals, especially as related to Catholic religious education and liturgical practices.
The school, as do all Catholic schools in the diocese, adheres to diocesan standards regarding Catholic identity and academic excellence as well as the protection of children and young people.
The Rev. John Fortin, superintendent of schools, said, “Following an application process that reviewed the governance organization and the religious education programs at Holy Family Academy, I am pleased to welcome Holy Family Academy into the family of Catholic schools in New Hampshire. The administrators and teachers will be welcomed to all diocesan programs offered by the Catholic Schools Office for them. I look forward to fruitful collaboration with the Holy Family Academy community.”
Mary Mosher, executive director of Holy Family Academy and one of its founders, said, “We are honored to be recognized by Bishop Libasci as a Catholic school. We look forward to building what I know will be a lasting and fruitful collaboration as we continue to work toward the goal of teaching and forming young people.”
The Rev. Marc Montminy, one of the founders of Holy Family Academy, said, “This is a blessed moment for the Holy Family community, filled with hope for a future of Christ-centered education.”
Bishop Libasci said, “I am pleased to welcome Holy Family Academy to the Catholic school community within the Diocese of Manchester as a private Catholic school, and I offer my prayerful best wishes for its continued success.”
Holy Family is a co-educational private Catholic school offering a classical education for students in grades 7-12. The educational philosophy of the school values intellectual, moral, and spiritual formation aimed at eternal salvation.
