Nashua expo invites you to get in on small-business action

Mark Constantino describes his new business, My Cure Cloud, as the “next best up-and-coming version of the Geek Squad.”

Any small business, organization or individual who is stumped by a problem with a computer system, mobile device, a router or printer can contact My Cure Cloud, and a member of the tech support team will diagnose the problem for free and fix it remotely for a one-time fee.

My Cloud Cure is part of a network of small businesses, community groups and nonprofits organizations that will present their products and services Wednesday at the 2014 TD Bank Community & Small Business Expo at the Radisson Hotel in Nashua.

The expo, which is free and open to the public, will run from 5 to 7:30 p.m. In addition to small businesses, this year’s event will highlight Nashua’s social services, arts and culture and education.

For Constantino, the expo is a chance to tell anyone who has ever stared helplessly at a “blue screen of death” that there is a local company in Nashua that can help.

“We’re also a resource for small businesses that don’t have a lot of money to spare for IT services,” he said.

The expo, which is being touted by the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce, is a chance for the community to see what types of services and products are being offered by local businesses and organizations. For businesses, it’s an opportunity to network and possibly establish valuable connections.Constantino is hoping to expand the services offered through My Cloud Cure with partnerships with other tech service providers such as website developers or graphic designers.

And for up-and-coming entrepreneurs, the expo offers a look at some of the resources available that might help launch and grow a new business.

Prior to the public portion of the expo, Marianne Jones, executive director of the Women’s Fund of New Hampshire, will lead a one-hour workshop on strategies for optimizing grant applications. The workshop, which is geared toward nonprofit organizations, will cover where to look for funding and grant writing do’s and don’ts. The workshop runs from 4 to 5 p.m.

For information about attending or exhibiting at the expo, contact Christina Hendicks at the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce, 881-8333.
