Obamacare's new trick: Only temporary relief

The White House announced this week that it is violating Obamacare and allowing Americans two more years before the government forces them to give up the health plans they like. Do not be misled by this obvious political trick.

National Journal reported: “Administration officials denied any political motivation for the latest delay, though press materials about the changes specifically name-checked Democratic senators who are up for reelection this year and have pushed for Obamacare changes — including Mary Landrieu, Jeanne Shaheen....”

Politico reported that the White House devised the delay in consultation with “vulnerable Democrats,” including Shaheen, Carol Shea-Porter and Anne Kuster. Well.

The three Democrats who allegedly represent New Hampshire in Washington will say that this delay shows they are trying to fix the problems Obamacare implementation has created. But the real test is whether they favor permanently rolling back the draconian mandates and allowing citizens more freedom in buying insurance. They do not. This extension is an election-year ploy to defuse voter anger at Democrats for imposing this disastrous law upon the nation. Don’t fall for it.
