Richmond voters pass zoning changes
RICHMOND -- Voters passed all four zoning articles at town meeting ballot voting on Tuesday.
Nearly 29 percent or 234 of the town’s 808 registered voters turned out for Tuesday town meeting ballot voting.
All candidates running for office were elected unopposed.
A proposed zoning article to amend the town’s dimensional requirements for septic systems and wells to conform to state standards passed 189 to 43.
Another to conform frontage and yard requirements with current zoning setbacks passed 171 to 57. A similar change concerning uplands passed 162 to 54 and a proposed zoning change to clarify uses permitted by earth excavation by right vs. those which are required to apply for through a permitting process passed 173 to 44.
