Plaistow voters okay new police contract
PLAISTOW - Voters approved a new police union contract at the polls on Tuesday.
The 21 employees in the union have been without a new contract since 2010. The new contract extends through 2017 and includes a two percent pay raise in each year of the contract.
In the race for selectman, Steve Ranlett held off a challenge from write-in candidate Jack Paone, 531-250.
Voters also approved the municipal operating budget of $7,883,499 by a margin of 583-80.
Had voters rejected the budget, the default budget would have been about $120,000 higher than the proposed budget.
