Longtime Goffstown resident remembered for his service
Emerton, 85, died March 9 after a brief illness.
“He was always caring toward others and always ready to laugh at whatever tickled him,” said Morgrage.
“He held many high positions in the Lions Club and he did a lot to help his community,” said Peabody. “I got to know Larry when I joined the Lions Club about 45 years ago, a long, long time. The Lions Club is very service-oriented organization and he was director of Lions International in the state, which is huge in responsibility and very prestigious.”
“His main goal was to help people,” said Burt. “He was always very cordial, and when I was a freshman he would always encourage me to help others.”
“I came in third and Larry was number one. I asked him how he does it, and he said a lot of it is because of his wife. He said, ‘I haven’t put up a sign in years and I keep winning’” Burt said.
