Goffstown rejects $4.5M fire station plan
Voters failed to approve the fire station bond by a 1,193 to 1,115 vote, which did not reach the three-fifths ballot vote to pass. The bond would have renovated the town's three stations on Tirrell Hill Road, Church Road and Mast Road, and provide space for modern equipment and vehicles, office and training areas, removal of radon contamination and brought facilities into ADA compliance.
Peter Georgantas won a board of selectmen seat by a 1,525 to 755 vote over state Rep. John Burt. On the planningboard, Phil D'Avanza and James Raymond won the two seats over incumbents Mark Warden and John Hikel. D'Avanza won by 1,471 votes and Raymond with 1,388 votes. Hikel received 728 votes and Warden 621 votes.
The town's $19.5 million budget passed 1,795 to 508; and the school district's $37.7 million budget passed 1,387 to 955.
