Merrimack — This year, Saint John Neumann Church in Merrimack will hold its 18th annual FAST for Social Action. The FAST will take place on March 28 and 29.
This year’s theme is “Love Lights the Way-Jesus is the Way.” Teen and adult participants will consume only juice and water for 30 hours while engaging in various service and team building activities, ending with a special “Break-FAST” dinner.
One of the goals of the fast is to bring awareness to participants about local social injustices and educate them on the needs of our neighbors. Six local agencies will benefit from the FAST: Jaiden’s Angel Foundation, Hope for Gus Foundation, Greater Nashua Mental Health Center, Corpus Christi Food Pantry, Cure for Hope and Saint John Neumann Outreach.
Typically, about $20,000 is raised to support each agency. Volunteers and donations are essential to the success of the FAST. If you are interested in participating in this popular, meaningful event, please contact the Youth Ministry Office at 880-0825.
