Etz Hayim Synagogue continues free talks series
DERRY — Etz Hayim Synagogue will continue its Key issues in Contemporary Judaism series with two free talks.
“Eating Holy” will be presents by David Riese from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, at the synagogue. What you eat is a cornerstone to living a healthier and more spiritual life. This discussion focuses on a Jewish point of view on healthy eating and how to dine with a connection to the Holy. Riese has extensively studied nutrition and applies it in his own life.
“Growing Up as a Jew in the Ukraine,” a free talk by Irina Rubinshteyn, is set for 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 27. Rubinshteyn, a teacher at the synagogue, will talk about her experience of growing up in Ukraine and coming to the U.S. as a refugee.
She will share family stories and will play Ukrainian music. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the country that is now in in the news.
Refreshments will be served. No registration is required. Everyone is invited.
