Edelman will re-sign with Patriots

Wide receiver Julian Edelman is re-signing with the New England Patriots.

Edelman announced via Twitter on Saturday that he has a deal to return to the team after testing free agency the second straight year.

"Foxboro is home. Excited to be back," he wrote.

Edelman was the Patriots' top receiver in 2013 with 105 receptions for 1,056 yards with six touchdowns.

Last year, Edelman re-signed with the Patriots a one-year deal that was packed with incentives that earned him more than $1 million.

Edelman averaged 10.7 yards on 35 punt returns last year.

The Patriots drafted Edelman in the seventh round in 2009. For his career, he has 174 catches for 1,770 yards with 10 touchdowns. He is also averaging 12.3 yards on 107 punt returns.
