Hooksett police say shoplifter’s car hit worker

Police say this woman shoplifted from Kohl’s Department Store in Hooksett before striking a store employee with a car.

HOOKSETT — Hooksett police may be nearing an arrest after a woman was seen stealing jewelry from Kohl’s Department Store before striking a store loss-prevention employee with her vehicle.

“We have some leads we’re following up on, but we’re pretty sure we know who it is at this point,” said Hooksett Police Sgt. Mathew Burke.

The crime took place around 1 p.m. Monday, and the woman, when confronted by Kohl’s loss-prevention personnel in the parking lot, refused to go back into the store. Instead, she got into a silver sedan with red and white temporary New Hampshire license plates reading 1481809 and placed her car in reverse. She accelerated quickly and struck one of the employees in the leg, causing minor injuries.

The injured worker refused medical attention.

Anyone who may be able to identify the woman or provide additional information is asked to call the Hooksett Police Department at 624-1560.
