New Hampshire Charitable Foundation appoints board members

CONCORD — The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation has appointed 21 new members to its regional advisory boards.
The foundation’s eight regional advisory boards — Capital, Lakes, Manchester, Monadnock, Nashua, North Country, Piscataqua and Upper Valley — are composed of local members who monitor the needs of their communities to inform foundation grant-making programs.
Each regional advisory board member serves a three-year term. Current membership across the eight regional advisory boards totals 106.
New members: Capital Region: Peter Burger of Concord is the president of the law firm Orr & Reno.Ruth Perencevich of Concord is a trained scientist and library assistant who has served in a variety of volunteer capacities in the Capital region.
Lakes Region: Cynthia A. Hemeon-Plessner of Laconia is the vice president of marketing at the Meredith Village Savings Bank. Jeff Kantar of Alton is a financial adviser and planner with Northwestern Mutual. Carol Gerken of Meredith is a principal of Wingate Enterprises Consulting.
Manchester Region: Ann Lally of Manchester is president of Salem Co-operative Bank. Travis York of Manchester is the president of GY&K Marketing in Manchester. David Schleyer of Manchester is CEO of Elm Grove Companies, a regional realty and property management firm and principal of Kindler Development Group LLC. Dr. Jennifer Wise of Candia is an internist at Elliot Health System’s Derryfield Medical Practice.
Monadnock Region: Steve Hahn of Hillsborough is the former head of school at Lawrence Academy in Groton, Mass., and served as head of school at Portledge School in Locost Valley, N.Y., before retiring to New Hampshire in 2012. Hahn and his wife have maintained a home in Hillsborough since 1974 and have remained active in the town’s civic affairs.
Nashua Region: Dr. Sanders “Sandy” Burstein of Amherst is medical director of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Nashua. Dr. Jamison “Jamie” Hoff of Hollis recently concluded a 10-year term as chairman of Rivier College (now university) Board of Trustees, and is national project director of the American Association of Community and Junior Colleges. Martha O’Neill of Nashua is president of law firm Clancy & O’Neill, P.A.
North Country: Dr. Suzanne Boulter of Waterville Valley is a retired pediatrician and adjunct professor of pediatrics and of community and family medicine at Dartmouth Medical School. Paul Chant of Chocorua is a civil trial lawyer and partner in the firm Cooper Cargill Chant. Nancy Devine of Silver Lake is executive director of the Huggins Hospital Charitable Foundation. Alfred “Al” Simensen of North Woodstock is former vice-president of worldwide sales for Mercury Computer Systems.
Piscataqua Region: Evan Karatzas of Portsmouth is founder and director of experience design at Proximity Lab, an award-winning interaction design studio in Portsmouth. Amy McLaughlin of Exeter is controller at Fluid Equipment Solutions of New England LLC, a commercial HVAC equipment engineering sales company that she started with her husband.
Upper Valley: Catherine Richmond of Hanover is an estate planning attorney with the firm Stebbins Bradley PA. Lisa Ferneau of Canaan has practiced law with a large Washington, D.C., firm and with a small firm in Vermont. She volunteers in numerous Upper Valley organizations.
