Autopsies expected to provide vital clues in Barrington murder-suicide

BARRINGTON — Autopsies are scheduled for today on the bodies of a man and woman who died in what authorities are describing as a murder-suicide.

According to the Attorney General’s Office, the bodies of an adult man and adult woman were discovered Saturday inside a home in Barrington. Officials said the preliminary investigation indicates the man shot the woman and then shot himself.

The identities of the victims were withheld until their families could be notified; authorities also did not release the address where the bodies were found.

Senior Assistant Attorney General Janice K. Rundles said Sunday night she could not release further information because she wasn’t certain the victims’ next-of-kin had been notified.
