LITTLETON — The Children’s House, a Montessori school in Littleton that serves about 40 North Country pupils, will receive all donations placed in checkout canisters at the Littleton Food Co-op’s store this month, as well as $1 for every fresh, hand-tossed pizza sold at the co-op’s deli on “Pizza Fridays.”

In addition to raising money for the 43-year-old school, administrators will have a chance to share with co-op members and customers information about school programs, said Ed King, co-op general manager.

“We work with other area nonprofit organizations to get the word out about the good work they’re doing in the community and to raise funding to support that work.

“The Children’s House has been fostering a strong community for our area’s children and families for a long time, and we’re happy to partner with them this month,” King said in a news release.

The school’s mission is to provide children with a stimulating learning environment and varied experiences to help them develop socially, intellectually, physically and emotionally.

The school, at 75 Bronson St., holds several fundraisers throughout the year to help cover program and operational expenses. Administrators, for example, will hold a tag sale on May 3 and a “Montessori Night” on April 7 to which community members interested in the school and the Montessori philosophy of education are invited.
