Fisher Cats open with shutout win

Kenny Wilson drove in three runs and starter Aaron Sanchez threw a one-hitter over five scoreless innings to lead New Hampshire past Trenton 6-0 in an Eastern League season-opening contest Thursday at Arm & Hammer Park in New Jersey.

Sanchez, Casey Lawrence and Scott Gracey combined on a three-hit shutout for the Fisher Cats.

Sanchez walked two and fanned five for the mound win. All three pitchers allowed just one hit and Gracey had three strikeouts over the last two innings. New Hampshire had 10 hits.
New Hampshire posted four second inning runs. Brad Glenn started the inning with a single and went to third on a one-out double by Ryan Schimpf, who finished with two hits.
Nashua native Kevin Nolan (two hits) plated Glenn with a single and after a walk to Mike Crouse loaded the bases, Wilson cleared them with a triple to right.

Wilson (two hits) scored a run from third base in the fifth inning on a force-out. A.J. Jimenez (two hits) singled home Jon Berti in the ninth inning for the final run. Berti had tripled with one out.

Deck McGuire starts Friday's game for New Hampshire in the second game of a four-game set at 7:05 p.m.
