Dionne, O'Keefe to receive de Porres award at White Mass
MANCHESTER — Bishop Peter A. Libasci will celebrate the White Mass for healthcare professionals at St. Joseph Cathedral at 6 p.m. on April 24.
After, in the library, the New Hampshire Guild of Catholic Healthcare Professionals will honor Dr. Roger Dionne and Sister Monica O'Keefe with the 2014 St. Martin de Porres Award, given annually to a Catholic healthcare professional who exemplifies the virtues of Catholic healthcare.
Dionne has served St. Joseph Hospital and the greater Nashua community for 50 years. He was instrumental in developing hospice care, visiting nurses, St. Joseph Community Services Meals on Wheels, and the Roger Dionne Senior Center at the hospital.
O'Keefe was a substance abuse counselor in the Health Care for the Homeless Program at Catholic Medical Center from 1994 until 2012, and for many years was active in the addiction treatment community of Manchester and the New England region.
