Jets edge Bruins in shootout
After Little hammered a shot between the pads of Chad Johnson, Hutchinson (32 saves) made a left-pad save to deny Brad Marchand in the third round and end the contest.
The 24-year-old Hutchinson was making his second career start for the Jets, who snapped a three-game home losing skid and won for just the third time in their last 11 contests at MTS Centre.
Marchand scored midway through the first period and Johnson turned aside 36 shots for the Bruins, who have dropped four straight on the road for the first time in two years.
Boston, which has lost four of its last five overall, leads Anaheim by three points in the race for the Presidents' Trophy.
Marchand opened the scoring after reeling a perfect bounce pass of the boards from Reilly Smith before backhanding the puck past Hutchinson for his 24th goal.
The Jets spoiled Johnson's bid for his fourth career shutout with 1:57 remaining in the third as an unmarked Evander Kane scored from the left circle.
