Celtics drop road game to Sixers

PHILADELPHIA -- Michael Carter-Williams finished with 21 points, a career-high 14 rebounds and four steals to help Philadelphia end its home schedule with a rare win, 113-108.

Tony Wroten scored 20 points off the bench and Thaddeus Young added 15 points for the Sixers, who took the season series 3-1. Henry Sims chipped in 13 points and Brandon Davies had 11 on 5-of-6 shooting as Philadelphia finished with a 54.4 percent showing from the field.

Kelly Olynyk had a career-high 28 points to pace Boston, which finished 9-32 on the road. Jeff Green scored 27 points, Avery Bradley had 23 and Rajon Rondo collected eight points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds.

Olynyk's triple with 3:15 to go got the Celtics within 104-101 before Wroten made two free throws and Sims answered an Olynyk jumper with one of his own to make it 110-105 with 25.1 seconds left. Green hit all three free throws after being fouled behind the arc with 15.3 seconds to go to make it 111-108 and a Sixers turnover gave Boston a chance to tie, but Chris Johnson stepped out of bounds before he could get a potential game-tying shot off in the final second.

Olynyk scored five straight Celtics points to give his team a 38-37 lead early in the second quarter but the Sixers had a pair of 10-0 runs in the next nine-plus minutes en route to a 67-50 halftime lead. Bradley and Olynyk combined for 20 points in the third quarter as Boston rallied to within two points entering the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Sixers have won four of their last 29 games, with three of the victories coming against the Celtics. ... Boston C Jared Sullinger (ankle) missed his second straight game and is expected to sit out the season finale as well. ... The Celtics end the regular season at home Wednesday against Washington. The Sixers will be at Miami.
