Mother and child startled by late-night intruder in their Manchester living room

MANCHESTER - A disoriented, homeless woman found her way into the home of a young Youville Street family early Tuesday morning, making herself comfortable in a living room rocking chair and startling a young mother and her infant child who were resting on the nearby couch.

Police said the woman, identified as Jessica Cooper, 24, last known address of 14 Waterview Drive, Amherst, didn't see Stephanie Razor and her child when she entered the apartment around 3 a.m. and made herself at home.

Razor remained still, uncertain what to do. Eventually, she got up with her child, went to the bedroom and woke up her husband, Andrew Razor, alerting him to the situation, according to police.

Rather than confront the woman, the three left their apartment and called police.

Officers found the disoriented, impaired Cooper still sitting in the rocking chair when they arrived and arrested her.

Police said Cooper is homeless and sought refuge inside the apartment, thinking it was vacant. Lt. Maureen Tessier said Cooper entered the apartment through an unlocked kitchen door.

Cooper is charged with criminal trespass. She pleaded innocent to the trespass charge Tuesday morning in 9th Circuit Court, Manchester District Division, and trial was set for May 15. A police prosecutor, who noted Cooper has pending charges in Nashua District Division, successfully sought $1,000 cash/surety bail.
