Gatsas feeling 'stronger than ever'

MANCHESTER — Mayor Ted Gatsas is back home from the hospital and says he’s feeling “stronger than ever.”

Gatsas underwent a heart bypass operation last Tuesday on the advice of his doctor.

“He gave me another 100,000 miles and said to go get ‘em,” an upbeat Gatsas said on Tuesday.

It will still likely be a couple weeks before Gatsas is back at City Hall on a regular basis, but he expects to be visiting his office and with officials starting next week, according to his chief of staff.

Gatsas said he will be eating a healthier diet following his operation. But he said he won’t be swearing off Cremeland, his favorite ice cream shop.

“But it won’t be as frequent, and hopefully I can find something healthier on the menu,” he said. tsiefer@unionleader.com

Christie is the real deal

We have found Gov. Chris Christie to be the most consistent, the most confident in his abilities, the most tested under fire, and the most likely to regain the White House from a disastrous Democratic regime.
