Ex-coach found not guilty on sexual assault charges a second time

TIMOTHY LONGUA

BRENTWOOD — A former Londonderry youth football coach was found not guilty for the second time in two months on charges that he sexually assaulted a young girl at his home.

A jury on Wednesday cleared Timothy Longua, 42, on charges that he had touched a 12-year-old girl at his home while she was visiting there in late 2012.

The jury reached its decision in Rockingham County Superior Court after about 40 minutes of deliberation. The verdict echoed one made by a separate jury in early March that found Longua not guilty on charges alleging he had sexually assaulted another 12-year-old girl. Defense lawyer Chuck Keefe said his client is relieved the two trials cleared him of any wrongdoing.

“The last 14 months have been a nightmare for the Longua family,” Keefe said. “Tim can finally rest assured that two juries told him what he has been saying all along, which is he didn’t do anything to these girls.”
