UPDATE: Penacook woman injured in morning I-93 Londonderry crash


LONDONDERRY – A Penacook woman was flown by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital Wednesday morning after her car rolled over and crashed on Interstate 93 a mile north of Exit 4.

Annie Demirel, 62, was headed northbound in her 2007 Nissan Sentra when her car drifted off the right side of the road, then veered back across the roadway and rolled over, crashing into several trees off the left side of the roadway, according to state police.

A medical helicopter was called in and traffic was shut down on the northbound side of the highway for 30 minutes just before 11 a.m. so the helicopter could land. Demirel was medflighted to Tufts Medical Center in Boston for what police are calling non-life-threatening injuries.

This crash remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to call Trooper Larry Lundt at N.H. State Police Troop B at 223-4381.

LONDONDERRY - A northbound section of Interstate 93 was temporarily shut down Wednesday morning after a serious crash.
 
A female motorist was transported by DHART helicopter after reportedly losing control of her vehicle and rolling over the median, according to police reports.
 
The crash occurred shortly after 10 a.m. Wednesday, about a half-mile north of Exit 4 in Londonderry, near mile marker13.
 
The Transportation Management Center for the state Department of Transportation reported on its Twitter account that Interstate 93 northbound was closed at 10:30 a.m., with one lane reopened shortly before 11 a.m. The medical helicopter landed on the highway so it could pick up the patient from the crash.
