College Baseball: PSU holds off Keene State

Dave Hall singled home two runs to highlight a three-run sixth inning and the Plymouth State University baseball team held on to beat Keene State College, 4-3, on Friday at the Owl Athletic Complex.
Reliever Ryan Wakefield earned the save by retiring the final two batters with the bases loaded in the ninth inning. PSU improved to 14-11 overall, 2-5 in the Little East Conference. Keene State dropped to 6-14 and 1-6.
Tucker Regan earned the win with seven innings of work.
Merrimack 4, SNHU 0: The No. 12 Penmen managed just five hits against Merrimack pitching on Friday in North Andover, Mass. Sophomore Tim Viehoff, of Derry, was the hard-luck loser for SNHU, allowing two runs in seven-plus innings.
The teams meet again today at 1 p.m. at Merrimack.
Daniel Webster 8-2, Newbury 4-5: Kyle Brigham of Hudson went 4 for 4 with a double and triple and missed the cycle by a home run as host Daniel Webster topped Newbury in the opener of a doubleheader in Nashua. DWC moved to 8-15 overall (4-8 in the New England Collegiate Conference).
