Teen cited following Hudson accident

HUDSON - A 16-year-old was cited for speeding after an accident left the Toyota Corolla he was driving upside-down in a stand of trees near Bush Hill Road Monday night.

Police said Matthew Achorn, 16, of Hudson was speeding when he lost control of the car at about 9:15 p.m.and it went off the road.

Achorn and his companion, Michael Guiffride, 16, also of Hudson, escaped without injury, which police attributed to the fact that each was wearing a seat belt.

Police Lt. Kevin DiNapoli called the events a "perfect example" of how seat belts save lives.
