UPDATE: Salem man faces DWI charge after Manchester crash

MANCHESTER — A Salem man is facing a felony DWI charge following a crash on Interstate 93 in Manchester early Sunday morning that sent three people to the hospital.

A press release said Troopers Mark Dore and Andrew Monaco were in the Interstate 293 area at 2:06 a.m. when a car passed both of them at a high rate of speed.

Both troopers were trying to catch up to the car when they saw it lose control and crash into another vehicle traveling in the right lane on I-93 near mile marker 17.6.

Police arrested Gregory Dawson, 27, of Salem and charged him with felony DWI.

Police said the passenger of the other car was ejected during the crash and taken to Elliot Hospital. Both Dawson and the driver of the other car were also taken to Elliot Hospital with what police said appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the troopers and a "good Samaritan" treated the injured occupants of the other car.

Dawson was arraigned Monday morning in 9th Circuit Court, Manchester District Division, on felony charges of reckless conduct (2) and aggravated driving while intoxicated. He was also charged with possession of marijuana.

A bail commissioner had originally set bail at $20,000 cash/surety, but by agreement between Dawson's attorney and a New Hampshire State Police prosecutor, bail was changed to $15,000 personal recognizance and $5,000 cash/surety. Included in bail conditions is a 10 p.m. curfew. A probable cause hearing on the felonies was set for May 5.
