After what could politely be described as a few campaign missteps right out of the gate, political observers have been wondering exactly who is running the gubernatorial campaign of Republican Walt Havenstein, who called The Pledge "puffery," then initially dodged questions about abortion and gay marriage.
The team trying to keep the political novice on track and on message starts with Campaign Manager Matt Seaholm. He joined the campaign from the issues advisory firm DC London Inc., where he was political director.
Prior to that he was National Field Director at Americans for Prosperity where he oversaw the largest independent conservative field operation in the country. Seaholm's campaign experience includes managing a successful Congressional election in Wisconsin.
Field Director Matt Moroney was the 2012 state field director for Kevin Smith's gubernatorial campaign. In the 2012 New Hampshire presidential primaries, Moroney was a field representative for Romney for President and previously worked on Rich Ashooh's 2010 congressional campaign. He has also overseen several state Senate campaigns in New Hampshire.
Press Secretary Henry Goodwin comes to the campaign with nearly 10 years of political and corporate PR experience in London. He worked for the chairman of the Conservative Party, and was global head of corporate affairs for a British-based corporation.
