Getting groceries on the go in Goffstown
The Goffstown Planning Board approved a conditional use permit Thursday to allow drive-through service.
Planning board Chairman Barbara Griffin said she was in favor of the project but questioned whether the drive-through should be on the side of the building. The front area already has a fair amount of traffic and curbside stopping, Griffin said.
“The demographic of this store is such that I think this is going to be a well-used service,” Griffin said.
Hannaford Bros. presenter J.M. Lord said that a traffic backup was unlikely because cars advance to a reserved empty spot right after hitting the call button.
Hannaford Bros. will be working on the plans over the next few months and looks to start offering the service later this year, McKenney said.
