Brass emblem stolen from Merrimack VFW post

MERRIMACK — Someone stole a brass Veterans of Foreign Wars emblem from in front of the VFW post, and police are asking for the public's help in finding it and those responsible for the theft.

The emblem was reported stolen Friday from where it was affixed to a sign in front of the building at 282 Daniel Webster Highway. However, VFW members believe it was stolen two to three weeks earlier.

The emblem weighs more than 100 pounds and is valued at about $2,000.

Anyone with information about the emblem should call the Criminal Investigation Division at the police department at 424-3774, or submit an anonymous tip by calling 424-2424 or submit a tip online at merrimackcrimeline.org . Tips leading to an arrest may result in a reward of up to $1,000.
