NH College Roundup: Dartmouth sweeps Harvard; FPU beats SNHU
The Dartmouth College baseball team swept Harvard, 9-0 and 5-3 on Tuesday in Cambridge, Mass., to finish tied for first place in the Ivy League's Red Rolfe Division.
The Big Green tied Yale at 11-9 and will thus play the Bulldogs in a one-game playoff for the division title. The game will be played at Dartmouth sometime this weekend, the day and time to be determined.
Tuesday, freshman right-hander Mike Concato blanked the Crimson in the opener, scattering seven hits. Jeff Keller capped a nine-run sixth inning with a grand slam.
In the nightcap, Joe Purritano's two-run double keyed a four-run fifth inning.
FPU beats SNHU
Franklin Pierce University's Conor Gleason struck out 13 over eight innings as the Ravens topped No. 20 Southern New Hampshire University 4-1 in Northeast-10 baseball action Tuesday night at Pappas Field in Rindge.
The Ravens, who have won eight in a row, improved to 33-14 and 18-6 in the NE-10, while the Penmen are 32-12 and 19-7 in the league.
Franklin's Derrick Sylvester took the loss for SNHU.
