MANCHESTER – Police are searching for a woman they say slashed her ex-husband with a knife during an argument over custody of their young daughter.

The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of slash wounds to his head and shoulder. Sgt. Richard Brennan said the injuries are not life-threatening.

The incident happened about 8:30 a.m. Thursday at 82 Aaron Drive.

Brennan said the couple's routine is to exchange custody of their daughter at the home where the man now lives with his new wife.

He said the child was already inside the home when her parents argued over who had custody because it was school vacation week.

The woman slashed her former husband with a knife while they were arguing in the garage area of the home, Brennan said. He said the child did not see what happened.

The two-story home is located off Bodwell Road in the southeastern part of the city. The city's online assessors' database lists the owner as Mikkenna M. Maia.
