The Jaguars, in their first year as a Division II team, are atop the standings at 10-1. The Cardinals fell to 10-2. Each team has four games remaining in the regular season.
Kristin Cameron had four goals and two assists for BG. Bryn Carroll had two goals.
“It definitely came down to controlling (the ball), maintaining it and keeping possession of it,” said Windham coach Jill Bartlett.
“This was one our best games staying composed under pressure,” said assistant coach Paul Cino. “They had terrific draw control.”
“Coming into this game we knew it would be key for us,” said BG coach Mandy Rogers. “Windham does a very nice job controlling the ball.”
But Windham got the next three goals while goalkeeper Tori Cipollone made some key saves.
Playing with the lead, the Jaguars maintained possession and let the clock run down. BG could scored one goal in the final 13 minutes.
“I think it comes from confidence and having a trust in each other, supporting each other,” said Bartlett.
