LACONIA — A 29-year-old Laconia woman was charged with felony driving while intoxicated after an early-morning crash on the Laconia Bypass on Saturday.

According to police, Tara Avery, 29, was heading southbound when her vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a vehicle driven by Ashley Hart, 21, also of Laconia.

Both drivers were taken by ambulance to Lakes Region General Hospital, and Avery was later transferred to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

Avery was later arrested for felony DWI, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crash to call 524-5252.
