Honorary degrees conferred at UNH

Administrators at University of New Hampshire issued several honorary degrees and awards at Saturday's commencement.

Jennifer Lee, Class of '92 and the director and writer of hit animated film "Frozen," received a doctorate in humane letters, as did renowned scientist David Phillip Hajjar, executive vice provost of Weill Medical College at Cornell University, who received a master's and doctorate at UNH in 1977 and '78, respectively.

The 2014 Granite State Awards, for exceptional community service and contributions to New Hampshire, were given to civic leaders W. Douglas Scamman, Class of '64; Stella Scamman, Class of '63; and Bottomline Technologies of Portsmouth.
